Elk County Catholic loses season opener to Brockway

April 12, 2011

The Elk County Catholic Crusader baseball team opened their season on Monday by hosting the Brockway Rovers at Berwind Park. The Rovers were able to take advantage of seven Elk Catholic errors on their way to a 7-4 victory over the Crusaders.
“After two weeks inside, you have to be ready to play and we weren’t,” said ECCHS coach Father Eric Vogt. “They took advantage of our mistakes, and that’s what good teams do. Their pitcher kept us off-balance. Thank goodness it’s a long season."
