JOHNSONBURG â€“ The Ramettes (2-3) held a 6-point lead late in the third quarter Monday against Cameron County (4-1) but inconsistent rebounding and foul lead to their demise, 46-42, against the visiting Lady Red Raiders.
Johnsonburg had built a 6-point lead with 2:45 on the clock as junior Brittany Watts, who paced all scorers with 15 points, scored a layup for the Ramettes' largest lead of the night.
Ridgway girls basketball lost 52-10 to Smethport in action Monday night at Ridgway Area High School.
The Lady Elkers were off to a slow start as Smethport scored the first 16 points of the game in the first quarter, the run capped by a Shannon Hughes 3-pointer with just more than two minutes left in the first half.
Ridgway broke the offensive drought with one minute left in the first quarter as Katie Oknefski hit a 2-point jump shot. Smethport led 18-2 at the end of the first quarter.
