CLARION – The Clarion Area Lady Bobcat volleyball team eliminated the Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders from the District 9-A volleyball tournament Thursday night in a match played at the Clarion Area High School.
Clarion won the first set 25-21, took the second set 25-13 and the third set 25-19.
“We played well at times in the first and third sets,” said ECCHS coach Diane Gies. “We’re an inexperienced team playing well at this time of the year against a ranked opponent.

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg volleyball opened the District 9 Class A volleyball playoffs with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-18) victory over Cameron County in the first round Tuesday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.
ST. MARYS – The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders advanced to the quarterfinals of the District 9 Class A volleyball tournament with a 3-0 victory over the Keystone Lady Panthers last night at the ECCHS gym.
The Lady Crusaders won the first set 25-11. They took the second set 25-15 and won the third set 25-16.
