Rose Marie Ginther, 85, of 301 Ford Rd., St. Marys, died peacefully at her home on Friday evening, March 16, 2012 surrounded by her family.Â Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Queen of the World Church on Tuesday, March 20, at noon.Â A full obituary will follow in Monday's edition.
Charlene Parks Bradford, 54, of Homosassa, Fla., died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 after a brief illness.
She was born May 2, 1957, in Johnsonburg, the daughter of the late Harold D. and Ethel (Arron) Parks.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Bradford of Homosassa, Fla.; three brothers, Larry Parks of Johnsonburg, Gary Parks of Wilcox, and Kirk Parks of St. Marys; and a sister, Tammy Parks of Johnsonburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Parks of California, in 1992.
Fiorina Aiello, age 78, of 221 Mill St., Johnsonburg, died Wednesday afternoon, March 14, 2012, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 29, 1933 in Reggio Calabria, Cannolo, Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Staltare Siciliano. On Oct. 11, 1958, in Welland, Ontario, Canada, she married Carmen Aiello; he preceded her in death Nov. 20, 2004.
Ray E. Lewis, age 89, of 1470 Montmorenci Rd., Ridgway, died early Tuesday morning, March 13, 2012, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Ridgway, son of the late Charles H. and Josephine (Greeley) Lewis. He married Flora A. Bobenrieth on April 1, 1977; she survives.
He had resided in Ridgway all of his life and was a member of the American Legion Post #208. Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to garden. He served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII veteran. He had been a self-employed truck driver for Lewis Trucking for 52 years.
Margaret M. "Rita" Repko, 89, of the Lutheran Home at Kane, formerly of 902 Burning Well Rd., Wilcox, died early Tuesday morning on March 13, 2012 at the Lutheran Home at Kane following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1922 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Frank and Maria Lopreiti Serianni Colosimo.
On May 15, 1950 in the Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, she married Frank W. Repko Sr. He died on Aug. 16, 2007.
Mrs. Repko resided in Kane for the past year. She was formerly of Wilcox.
Michael Biel Sr., age 82, of Millville, died on Sunday evening, March 11, 2012, a patient of Millville Health Center and under the care of Columbia Montour Home Hospice. Formerly of New Jersey and most recently Tobyhanna, he has resided in Columbia County since 2009.
Margaret A. Nearing, 96, of 1396 Burning Well Rd., Wilcox, died on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 20, 1915 in Wilcox, daughter of the late John and Anna Simko Pavlina.
On Nov. 4, 1933 in the Holy Cross Church in Rasselas, she married Linus J. Nearing, who died on Feb. 11, 2001.
She resided in the Wilcox area all her life and attended Wilcox schools.
Mrs. Nearing was a member of St. Anne's Church in Wilcox.
Earl E. Jacobs, 77, of 407 Cobb St., Johnsonburg, died on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a short illness.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1934 in Johnsonburg, son of Harold and Katherine Stager Jacobs.
On Oct. 28, 1961 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, he married Dorothy Dworsky. She died Feb. 4, 1986.
He resided in Johnsonburg his entire life and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1952.
Mr. Jacobs was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg American Legion Post 501 and Wilcox Sportsmen's Club.
John L. Brendlinger, 78, of 764 Shelvey Summit Rd., Kersey, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Beaver following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 1, 1934, in Clyde, son of the late Arthur and Ruth (Boring) Brendlinger. He married Martha M. Blessel Wonderly on Nov. 17, 1979. She preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2011.
He was a member of Maria Lutheran Church in Dagus Mines and a member of the Bells of St. Marys and the Ridgway Sportsmen's Club. He had been employed by Exotic Metals and retired from Carbon City Products.
Phyllis F. Bauer, 80, a resident at Ridgmont Assisted Living, Ridgway, and formerly of 126 Penn Rd., St. Marys, died on Thursday morning, March 8, 2012 at DuBois Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 30, 1931 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Marion and Leona Fritz Ford.
On June 21, 1952 in St. Mary's Church, she married the late Clarence "Lefty" Bauer, who preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2009.
