Ariannah Nicole Nero Rairdan, of 602 Washington St., St. Marys, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011 at Pittsburgh Children's Hospital following a three-month premature delivery.
She was born Aug. 17, 2011 at DuBois Regional Medical Center, daughter of Patrick John Rairdan and Kayla Michelle Nero.
She struggled to survive for eight days, and for those eight days she was survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and paternal and maternal grandparents and great -grandparents, as well as friends of both families.
Sara "Jayne" Jane Kushner, 69, Wesley Chapel, Johnstown died Aug. 19, 2011, at Conemaugh Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 7, 1942, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Homer and Helen (Chapple) Moore.
She was a 1959 graduate of Central Cambria High School and the Hammond School of Beauty Culture. Jayne was employed at the Penn Traffic Beauty Salon and later owned and operated her own salon. She later co-owned/managed a small convenience store (The Pic-Quik) in Johnstown with her husband â€śBob.â€ť
Andrew (Andy) Kaul IV, 78, of Das Zip Haus, St Marys, a Big Ten wrestling champion and electronics industry pioneer, died Friday, August 26, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
He was born November 10, 1932, in St. Marys, the son of the late Andrew Kaul III and Libby Morrow Kaul.
On October 24, 1959, at the Sacred Heart Church, he married Margaret Imboden, who survives.
Andy was a 1951 graduate of The Hill School in Pottstown, Pa., where he was introduced to the sport of wrestling. He was a three-time national prep wrestling champion while at The Hill School.
Angeline R. Sidoni, 81, of 49 Meadowbrook Rd., Ridgway, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 19, 1929 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late John and Daisy (Manno) Calla.
She married Thomas D. Sidoni on November 3, 1951. He survives.
She had resided in Ridgway since 1952 and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and was active in the Cursillo movement.
She devoted her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and had previously cooked at Elk County Catholic High School and for the Office of the Aging.
Philip L. Woodford Jr., 52, of 8975 Hawthorne Rd., La Plata, Md., died August 23, 2011, as the result of a motorcycle accident, in White Plains, Md. He was born May 10, 1959, in St. Marys, the son of Philip L. and Lois Milliron Woodford Sr. On April 10, 1983, he married Anneâ€™ Bonnagio, who survives.
Mr. Woodford had been a La Plata resident for 10 years. He was a member of the Moose Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and coin collecting. He was an avid Steelers fan.
William L. Jacob, 94, of Silver Creek Terrace, St. Marys, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born October 4, 1916, in St. Marys, son of the late A. Thomas and Catherine Kriegel Jacob. He married Rose McLeod and she preceded him in death on May 6, 1979. He then married Virginia Richards and she preceded him in death on January 2, 1995.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1934. He was a self-employed plasterer.
Ronald L. Kuppelwiser, 68, of Long View Court, Weedville, died Wednesday, August 24 at the Christ the King Manor in DuBois after a lengthy illness.
He was born June 9, 1943 in St. Marys, son of the late Simon Kuppelwiser who died in 1983 and Hazel Aunkst Kuppelwiser who died in 2005.
He had lived in Lorain, Ohio for years. He was a tractor trailer driver for many years, working for Jefferson Trucking, Inc. in Ohio.
Homer C. Wolfe Jr., age 62, Powers Avenue, Johnsonburg, died at home, Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, after a short illness.
He was born Oct. 8, 1948, in Ridgway, son of Homer C. Helen M. (Fitch) Wolfe Sr., deceased.
He married Arlean M. (Roessler) in June of 2009, she survives in Berlin Center, Ohio.
A graduate of Johnsonburg High School, he served for three years as a Marine in Vietnam. He retired from the State Police Agency of Oklahoma state and in 2005 retired as a Sergeant from the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He worked locally as a driver for ATA for six years.
Robert M. Harriger, 95, of Winter Haven, Fla., passed away Aug. 23, 2011.Â
Robert was preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Zilcosky.Â He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Edith Harriger; two daughters, Judith Thorwart (Fredrick) and Patricia Zilocosky; eight grandchildren, Deborah Thorwart, Barbara Tilley, Denis Fisher, Craig Zilcosky, Danielle Warren, Robyn Carter, Leslie Miller, and Danay Harvey; and 18 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, at First Baptist Church in Eagle Lake, Fla., at 1 pm. www.ott-laughlin.com.
Lois J. Bryndel, 82, of 126 Elk Ave., Ridgway, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born August 10, 1929, in Ridgway, the daughter of the late William B. and Florence C. Hathorn Wagoner.
She married James E. Bryndel, who predeceased her on February 22, 2004.
She had been a lifelong Ridgway resident and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. She was a longtime hospital volunteer and she attended many prayer groups. She especially enjoyed going out to eat with her family and friends.
