Hilda J. Gasbarre, age 81, of 121 Polk Ave., Ridgway, died early Monday morning, June 11, 2012, at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 24, 1930, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Walter J. and Grace (Meise) Winters. She married Gene L. Gasbarre on Dec. 28, 1950, he survives. She had resided in Ridgway for the last 65 years and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.
Hilda enjoyed playing bingo and watching Pittsburgh sports. She had been employed at Quality Components for 30 years.
Patricia A. Rees Covel, 80, of Pinecrest Manor, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 5, 1931, in Ridgway, the daughter of Paul and Cecilia Scherer Rees.
On August 6, 1960, she married Harry N. Covel, he survives.
Mrs. Covel was a lifelong Ridgway resident. She was a member of St. Leoâs Catholic Church, and the Good Samaritan Society. She was a graduate of St. Leoâs School. She had been employed at United Natural Gas until 1960.
Sarah Martin Kronenwetter, 76, of California, Md., died surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Washington, D.C.
Born on August 23, 1935 in Ridgway, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy Martin.
She was the loving wife of Ted Kronenwetter, whom she married on Aug. 20, 1960 in St. Marys.
Sarah graduated from St. Marys Area High School in 1953 and moved from St. Marys to St. Maryâs County, Md., in November 2008. She worked as a teacherâs aide for 20 years, retiring in 1997.
Sarah loved her family especially her grandchildren.
Robert W. McBurney (aka âRadarâ and âJinglesâ), 65, of St. Marys died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois, where he resided for the past two years.
He was born March 8, 1947 in St. Marys, a son of Madeline (Smith) McBurney Huff, who survives, and the late Robert L. McBurney.
He was a 1965 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School.Â He attended DeVry University in Chicago, Ill., studying electronics.
Joseph William Cole, 87, Walnut St, DuBois, died at his residence at 10:40 a.m. on June 10, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Nov. 1, 1924 to Joseph H. Cole and Josephine Willis Cole in Crafton, Pa., he was preceded in death by his three siblings, Samuel H. Cole, Annah M. Doak, and Howard C. Cole. He is survived by his wife, Janet Shenck Cole
Marcy M. Hodgdon, 39 of 213 Faries Street, Wilcox died on Thursday,
June 7, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys.
She was born on May 19, 1973 in Ridgway, daughter of Kenneth and Joyce Oertly Finn of Wilcox.
She married William J. Hodgdon on July 20, 2006. He survives.
Mrs. Hodgdon resided in Wilcox area all her life.
She graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1991. She was Lutheran by faith and was a caring and thoughtful person who's children were the love of her life. She also loved animals, Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Helen E. Manno, 83, of Muhlenberg Township passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 in her residence.
Helen was married to the late Joseph T. Manno who passed away Aug. 3, 2001. Helen was born June 7, 1929 in Owl's Nest, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Martha A. (Smith) Woodford. Helen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shillington.
Surviving are four children, John T. Manno of Union City, S. Diane Bestor of Butler, Madalene H. Manno of Provo, Utah and Thomas A. Manno of Muhlenberg Township.
She was predeceased by a son, David B. Manno, who passed away January 2000.
Tammy Jo Feldman, age 44, of Newphane, N.Y., died June 1, 2012.
She was born Oct. 13, 1967 in Jamestown, N.Y., daughter of Ralph and Patricia Feldman.
Tammy was loved very much and will be dearly missed by all she left behind.
Nathan E. "Ed" Bean, 76, of Harborcreek Township, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
He was born in Erie, Oct. 1, 1935, a son of the late Carl and Eileen Hall Bean.
Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a master plumber and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 47. He was a Cleveland Indians and Penn State football fan, a member of Carl Neff Post 571 and a Civil War and World War II buff. He also coached Bay City Football and Harborcreek Little League and was active with Boy Scout Troop 151. He enjoyed John Deere tractors.
Kathleen âPatâ Kneidel Meloni, 87, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Erie.
She was born in St. Marys on Dec. 4, 1924, daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Reider Kneidel.
Pat was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, the Ladies Guild and the New Life group of the church.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Andrew (Robert) of Baltimore, Md., and Karen Meloni (Darrell Kruszewski) of Erie; two sisters, Jean Schatz of St. Marys and Joan Rusciolelli (Frank) of Ridgway; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
