William Francis Lunder, 65, of Oknefski Road in Ridgway, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014.
He was born Dec. 1, 1948 in Ridgway, son of the late Leo W. and Ardis M. Oknefski Lunder.
He lived his whole life on Oknefski Road, and was a graduate of the Ridgway Area High School, Class of 1967.
During high school, he was employed at the Center Market, and afterwards he was employed at Motion Control for 44 years.
Bill loved life. He enjoyed farming, riding motorcycles, hunting and working on cars and his home.
Lucille M. Klotz, 89, formerly of 323 Allenhurst Ave., Ridgway, died Wednesday afternoon at Penn Highlands Elk following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 6, 1924 in Kersey, daughter of the late Edward J. and Beatrice (Cuneo) Sheeley.
She married WIlliam George Klotz on June 14, 1948, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1985.
She had resided in Ridgway for many years, and she was a former Dagus Mines resident.
She was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church, and she had been employed by Elk County General Hospital for over 40 years.
Louis J. "Poncho" Cherry, 90, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, died early Sunday morning, Oct. 19, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 26, 1923 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Thomas Cherry and Rose Grenci Borello Cherry.
On July 27, 1963 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, he married Ruth A. Calla. She died Aug. 27, 1997.
He resided in Johnsonburg all his life and was a 1942 Johnsonburg High School graduate.
Anthony Michael Sette, 84, of 22 Elk Ave., Ridgway, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born April 9, 1930 in Ridgway, son of Mike and Amelia Spizziri Sette. He recently returned to Ridgway from Detroit, Mich., where he had lived and worked for Ford Motors. He served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed going to casinos and betting on horses.
He is survived by a sister, Frances Pizzini of Dearborn, Mich.; and by several nieces and nephews.
Charles J. Donachy, 88, of 136 Wendel Rd., St. Marys, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois after an illness of the past month.
He was born April 3, 1926 in St. Marys, son of the late Charles Everett and Leona Kreckel Donachy.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Public Schools. He retired from Stackpole Carbon Company in 1987 with almost 40 years of service. After his retirement, he delivered products for Printing Plus.
On Aug. 23, 1947 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Catherine A. Oâ€™Connor, who survives.
Cathy L. Bauer, 64, of 117 Flagstone Rd., St. Marys, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at her home.
She was born Aug. 8, 1950 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Richard and Emmaline Tead Brush. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Ridgway High School.
She was married to John Bauer, who preceded her in death.
Florence E. â€śFlossieâ€ť Acker-German, 95, of Smethport, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 in the Lakeview Senior Care and Living Center, Smethport.
She was born April 19, 1919 in Ridgway, a daughter of Jack and Lena Fisher Bailey.Â In 1941, she married Albert Acker, who died in October 1984. She then married Ronald T. German on Sept. 30, 1989. He died Jan. 4, 2004.
Thomas W. Mehalko, 67, of 514 Horner Rd., Wilcox, died early Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys.
Born Feb. 1, 1947, in Wilcox, he was a son of George and Nellie Turzanski Mehalko. On July 27, 1968, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wilcox, he married Anita Johnson who survives.
Mr. Mehalko had worked for Penn Tech and, more recently, was employed by Alpha Sintered Metals in Ridgway.
James S. Dworsky, 89, of 522 Penn St., Johnsonburg, died Monday afternoon, Oct. 13, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 1, 1925 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Stephen and Violet Yeager Dworsky.
On May 5, 1962, he married Dolores Popielski in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, and she survives
Margaret M. Ticossi, 93, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Main Street, Kersey, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Elk Haven.
She was born May 23, 1921 in Coal Hollow, daughter of the late Angelo and Clementine Porta Ticossi. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School. She was a retired employee of Speer Carbon.
Margaret was a member of the St. Boniface Church, the Rosary Society, and the Fox Township Senior Center.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and their families.
