Ray L. Blauser, 79, of 647 S. St. Marys Road, St. Marys, and formerly of Shefï¬eld, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at DuBois Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born June 19, 1933 in Mayburg, a son of the late Perry and Bernetta Hanley Blauser.
Â Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War from 1952-1953.Â He retired from Motion Control after many years of service.Â He was a member of the Ridgway VFW and enjoyed hunting and ï¬shing.
Patricia L. "Pat" Jacobs, 77, of 504 High St., Johnsonburg, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1935 in Kane, daughter of the late Lloyd and Bertha Fox Swedenjelm.
On Sept. 4, 1954 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married Richard H. "Rich" Jacobs, and he survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg since 1969. She was a 1952 graduate of Kane High School. She was employed by Lyn-Clare Flower Shop in Johnsonburg for 10 years and Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Baltimore, Md. for two years.
Bonnie M. Keneske, 56, of 3374 Long Level Rd., Johnsonburg, died Saturday afternoon, June 30, 2012, at her residence following a short illness.
She was born Nov. 7, 1955 in Bradford, daughter of the late Harold H. and Shirley VanTassel Hunt.
On July 16, 1977 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, she married Joseph R. Keneske, and he survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg since 1978.
She graduated from Gowanda High School, Gowanda, N.Y., in 1975 and attended BOCES for a degree in nursing.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Rolfe Sportsmen's Club.
Dr. David Quinn Steele, age 85, of Glen Hazel Road in Wilcox, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at U.P.M.C.-Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born Oct. 20, 1926 in Pittsburgh to Dr. Paul B. and Anne McNeill Steele.
On May 2, 1958, he married Lorraine "Lorry" Harrison, she survives.
He attended the Awakening Alliance Church in Ridgway. Dr. Steele was an avid sportsman and enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hunting, canoeing, skiing and hiking and traveling. He also loved hockey and football. He was an avid reader and a strong Christian man who was very generous and humble.
Mary Grace Kriegish, 82, of 409 Willow St., Johnsonburg, died on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 2, 1929 in Weedville, daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Alice DeLullo.
She married Richard E. Kriegish on Jan. 3, 1948 in St. Joseph Church in Force. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1991.
Mrs. Kriegish resided in Johnsonburg since 1947. She graduated from Jay Township High School and from the Ora Jean Beauty School of Erie.
Richard H. Wagner, 57, of Ridgway died Thursday, June 21, 2012 in Ridgway.
He was born May 18, 1955 in Kittanning, a son of the late Frank J. and Iona (Bowser) Wagner. He was a 1973 graduate of Freeport High School. In 1977, he moved to Ridgway where he enjoyed living near the woods of Elk County. He was an avid hunter. He was a member of the Eldora Rod and Gun Club.
Mary E. âBettyâ McAlee, 92, of The Lutheran Home, Kane, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the home after a short illness.
She was born March 17, 1920 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Jonah and Annie (Williams) Davies.
On July 15, 1941, she married Peter âWootsâ McAlee. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1999.
Stephan Hoyt Stump, 41, of Rose St., Johnsonburg, died Thursday, June, 21, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian of Pittsburgh following a short illness.
He was born Feb. 4, 1971 in Ridgway, the son of Clifford Stump and Barbara (Redmond) Kronenwetter.
Stephan was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1989, and attended Penn State main campus for several years. He lived most of his life in Johnsonburg, spending some time in DuBois, the Poconos and State College.
Richard Taylor, 62, of 101 N. Mill St., Ridgway, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 11, 1950, in Tyler, the son of Richard and Pearl Taylor. He was a member of the Ridgway American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Taylor Griffith; four children, Trisha VanAlstine, Holly VanAlstine, Ed Griffith, and Richard Griffith; 14 grandchildren; and by a sister, Margaret Salvage of North Carolina.
He was predeceased by a brother, Bob Taylor.
Elizabeth H. Verbeck, 89, of 8 Center St., Ridgway, died Saturday morning, June 23, 2012, at her residence.
She was born March 1, 1923 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Roy B. and Jennie (May) Ely. She married Thomas J. Verbeck, Sr. on Sept. 28, 1946, he preceded her in death. She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and the C.C. of A. She was a 1941 graduate of the St. Leo High School.
