Helen M. (Sis) Rohr, 89, of 514 Kearsarge Ave., Ridgway, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 8, 2012 at the home of her son in Ridgway following an illness of the last four months.
She was born Aug. 3, 1923 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Persohn) Stritzinger. She married Theodore F. Rohr on Aug. 23, 1952; he preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1999.
Mary Ann Martini, age 53, a Rattlesnake Road resident in Brockport, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012 at her residence.
She was born May 19, 1959 in DuBois, daughter of John "Jack" and Marian Koval Marshall.
She was a member at St. Tobias in Brockway. Mary Ann was an active United Way volunteer. She also served as an EMT at Brockway Ambulance. She had been the editor for O-I's newsletter "Changing Times News" and served as shop steward at the plant, and on the business committee for Local #110.
Kenneth Randall Simon, 64, of 1806 Arroyo Rd., Ridgway, died Sunday at his residence.
He was born Jan. 31, 1948 in Ridgway, son of the late John F. and Connie M. (Tate) Simon. He had resided in the Ridgway area all of his life and was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a 1966 graduate of the Ridgway High School and was also a graduate of Penn State University with a B.A. and a Master's degree in wildlife biology. He had been employed by AlliedBarton Security Services at Graftech in St. Marys for 20 years and had also been a deputy game warden for 25 years.
Susan (Asunta) Mann Veneziano, age 103, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at the Twinbrook Medical Center.
Formerly of Erie, she resided in Harbor Creek Township. She was born in Brockway July 18, 1909, daughter of the late Salvadore and Angeline Mann. She is survived by her sons, Barnie Veneziano of Harbor Creek, with whom she lived, Thomas Veneziano and his wife, Marge, of Charleston, S.C., and James Michael Veneziano of North East; and her daughter, Suzanne Scaduto and her husband, John, of Henderson, Nev.
Edward R. Flacinski, 88, of 103 Clarion Rd., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 29, 1924 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Stanley and Catherine Brzostek Flacinski. He married Shirley Nyquist, who survives, on Oct. 1, 1949 in St. Leo's Roman Catholic Church in Ridgway. He had resided in Johnsonburg all of his life. He graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1942.
Leo J. â€śBoâ€ť Winters, 83, of Water Street, Johnsonburg, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys after a lengthy illness.
Born on Oct. 3, 1928 in Johnsonburg, he was the son of the late Walter and Grace (Meise) Winters. On July 12, 1958, he married Lillian M. (Fitch) Winters. She predeceased him on Dec. 10, 2009.
Carl E. â€śJimâ€ť Pearson, 75, of Dahoga Rd., Wilcox, died Tuesday, July 25, 2012 at Kane Community Hospital.
Carl was born Oct. 19, 1936 in New Brighton, the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Doyle) Pearson, and came to Wilcox at an early age, where he was raised by his family members, the late Victor and Florence Pearson.Â
Joseph F. Ehrensberger, 69, of 114 Cadillac Rd., St. Marys, died peacefully Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1942 in St. Marys, son of the late Joseph A. Ehrensberger, who died in 2001, and Clara B. Speaker Ehrensberger of St. Marys, who survives. On June 10, 1961 in the St. Maryâ€™s Church, he married Carol A. Bauer, who survives.
Shawn M. â€śBuckâ€ť McCabe, 41, of Johnsonburg, and recently of Rock Hill, S.C., died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
He was born Dec. 5, 1970 in Ridgway, son of Robert and Patricia (Klink) McCabe of Johnsonburg.
Jane (Zawacki) Muroski, 87, formerly of Ridgway and Johnsonburg, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, in Winter Park, Fla.
Born in Ridgway, she was a resident of Johnsonburg most of her life. She is the widow of William Joseph Muroski, who died in 1979. Â
She moved to St. Cloud, Fla. in 1981. Jane proudly served in the Womenâ€™s Army Air Corps in World War II.
