Mary H. Marroni, 87, of Wexford House, Kingsport, Tenn., and formerly of St. Marys, Johnsonburg and Ridgway, died Monday morning, Nov. 12, 2012 at Wexford House in Kingsport, Tenn. following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1925 in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Eleanor Rosaria Tegano. On June 9, 1943, she married Earnest J. Marroni, who preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1965.
Charles J. Schutz, age 80, formerly of Brockway, and currently a resident at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, passed with his loving family at his side on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 26, 1932, in St. Marys, son of Jerome and Dorothy Dill Schutz.
He married Mary Lou Renwick, she predeceased him on Sept. 27, 1965.
Charlie was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway.
Frederick J. Moore, 76, of 108 Madison Ave., Ridgway, passed away, Monday, Nov. 5, 2012.
He was born April 4, 1936, in Emporium, the son of Jay P. and Lula N. Chandler Moore. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise Shadd Moore. He had been a Ridgway resident for 35 years. Mr. Moore had been employed at Country Fair, Erich Trucking, Pine Crest Manor, and Industrial Steel and Pipe. He served in the U.S. Air Force in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and talking with his many friends.
Monica G. Defranco, 89, of 207 Grandview Rd., St. Marys, died Friday evening, Nov. 2, 2012, at the Pinecrest Manor.
She was born Dec. 1, 1922 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Ambrose and Mae Kerner Bauer. On June 28, 1948 in the St. Maryâ€™s Church, she married Fred T. Defranco, who survives.
Mrs. Defranco was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1940. She was a former employee of Sylvania and a member of the Queen of the World Church.
Shelley L. Robuck, 56, of 510 Third Ave., Johnsonburg, died on Friday morning, Nov. 2, 2012 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1955 in Kane, daughter of the late Richard and Shirley Polinski Disque.
She married David E. Robuck on June 15, 1974 in the Wilcox Lutheran Church. He survives.
Shelley resided in Johnsonburg since her marriage. She graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1974 and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnsonburg.
Richard H. "Dick" Farnsworth, 71, of 811 Washington St., St. Marys, died at his home on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 following a battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 20, 1941 in New Millport, a son of the late Russell and Bertha Chittister Farnsworth.
On Feb. 4, 1967 in St. Mary's Church, he married Joan Hoffman Farnsworth, who survives.
Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having been discharged in January of 1968. He made his career working at St. Marys Carbon and Stackpole Carbon Company. He also spent time as a truck driver and working at the All American Car Wash.
Anthony Thomas Vito, 91, of Levittown, passed away Sept. 28, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Langhorne. Â
He attended Kane High School, graduating in 1941. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and after basic training was assigned to the Third Infantry Division. He participated in invasions in Africa, Sicily, Italy and Southern France. Anthony received the Bronze Star Medal and two Purple Hearts as well as Laurels from the French Government. During a brief visit to Rome he was granted an audience with the Pope.
Grace M. "Grayce" Uher, 90, of Dunbar died on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at Highlands Hospital in Connellsville.
She was born on March 14, 1922 in Connellsville, daughter of the late John and Anna Goulosh Kendrish.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary societies. She retired from Pechins Foods (produce and meat departments).
Grayce was an avid cook and baker. A favorite pastime of hers was collecting angels.
Stephen B. "E.T." Palmer, 45, of 101 Fern Lane, Kersey, died Wednesday morning, October 31, 2012, at Sena-Kean Manor in Smethport following a short illness.
He was born Nov. 2, 1966 in St. Marys, son of Donna Schreiber Palmer and the late Frederick Palmer.
Formerly of St. Marys, he resided in Kersey since 1990. He attended St. Marys Area High School and graduated from Jeff Tech, DuBois, as a machinist.
He was a member of Queen of the World Parish in St. Marys. He especially loved spending time with his children, camping, hunting and fishing, and driving four-wheelers and snowmobiles.
Edmund L. â€śEmmyâ€ť Moline, age 91, died Oct. 18, 2012 in Port Charlotte, Fla.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, David and Edna Moline, and sisters Stella, Rosie, and Kathy.
He is survived by his sister Peachy; his wife of 66 years Dorothy (Dot); his children, Jeanne (Joe) Scheuerman, E. Robert (Susan), Debra (Kevin Betts), and Dennis (Regina); grandchildren Matt (Jaki) Trombley, Stephanie (Mario) Tripp, Ryan Moline, Stacey Rae Moline, Andrew Moline, Michael Lungo, Cassidy Lungo, Brian Antes and Zachary Tripp; nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
