Virginia D. Gigliotti

Virginia D. Gigliotti, 88, of 727 Penn St., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 3, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys following a short illness.
She was born July 14, 1926 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Marion and Wladyslawa Silcosky Simchick.
On Sept. 29, 1944, she married Battiste J. Gigliotti. He died Sept. 4, 2010.

Jay Tomas Schill

Jay Tomas Schill, 45, of Launer Drive, Johnsonburg, died unexpectedly at home Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015.
He was born Oct. 21, 1970 in Ridgway, son of Sandra E. (Lewis) Schill and the late Fredrick John Schill.
He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and Penn State with an associate in engineering.
He was a member of the Wilcox Sportsmen’s where he had served as manager for several years and a member of the Johnsonburg Elks, Piedmont, American Legion and Central Hose Company. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and especially fly fishing. He lived all his life in Johnsonburg.

Ronald L. "Ron" Newell

Ronald L. "Ron" Newell, 84, of 118 Poplar Rd., St. Marys, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 18, 1930, a son of the late Alton and Leona Hoffman Newell.
On June 25, 1955 in Queen of the World Church, he married Eleanor Samick Newell, who survives.

Jean Kirkpatrick, 99, of Rockville, Md., formerly of Johnsonburg, died Jan. 27, 2015 in Rockville, Md. after a short illness.
She was born Jan. 31, 1915 in Penfield, daughter of the late Boyd B. and Lottie M. (Pray) Harriger.
On March 30, 1935, she married Mark Kirkpatrick; he preceded her in death April 6, 1983.
She was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1932 and the State Teachers College of Lock Haven in 1934.

Vittoria I. Aiello

Vittoria I. Aiello, 89, of 301 Fairview Ave., Johnsonburg, died peacefully Saturday evening, Jan. 31, 2015 surrounded by her family at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 11, 1926 in Motta Santa Lucia, Italy, daughter of the late Carmello and Felicia Colacino Bevacqua.
On Oct. 18, 1952 in Welland, Ontario, Canada, she married Victor C. Aiello. He died Jan. 12, 2012.
She resided in Johnsonburg since 1952. She graduated from high school in Italy.

Angela Marie Moyer, 28, of 223 Ridge Rd., Kersey, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born July 16, 1986 in Newark, Ohio, daughter of Tonya S. (Stevens) Jones and the late James A. Jones. She married Joshua B. Moyer on July 30, 2010.

Joseph R. Frey, 81, of 1135 S. Michael Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born May 28, 1933, a son of the late Albert and Julia Breindel Frey.
On Sept. 15, 1956 in Queen of the World Church, he married Delores "Toots" Samick Frey, who survives.

Margaret M. Reed, 96, of 1261 Montmorenci Rd., Ridgway, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015.
She was born Dec. 6, 1918 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Luchs) Luchs.
She married Stanley C. Reed on Oct. 8, 1948, he preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1993.

Dolores E. Alpaugh, 75, of 434 East Main St., Ridgway, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at St. Johns Specialty Center in Mars.
She was born Oct. 26, 1939 in Sayre, daughter of the late Harlen W. and Stella M. Earle Wolfe.
She attended St. John's Lutheran Church. She had been a Ridgway resident for five years. She was a graduate of Waverly High School. She was a Girl Scout and a majorette.

Edward "Skip" Ciroli

Edward "Skip" Ciroli, 102, native of Ridgway, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at Sarah Reed Retirement Center. This had been his home for the past two years.
Skip was born Jan. 12, 1913 in Ridgway, son of the late Battista and Agnes Plaster Ciroli. He had four siblings, Regina Piccirillo, Eva McGonigle, Evelyn Blick and Henry Ciroli, all deceased.
Skip married Clare "Tootie" Jefferson on Feb. 19, 1936 and they celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary in 2012.
