Pricilla (Peachy) Shrefler, 89, of the Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility in Ridgway, died Monday morning, Dec. 8, 2014 at her residence following an illness of the last three years.
She was born Aug. 23, 1925 in Shawmut, daughter of the late David and Edna (Hook) Moline.
She married Franklin Maxwell Shrefler on March 22, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1981.
She had resided in Ridgway all of her life, and she was a 1942 graduate of the Ridgway Area High School.
Carl R. Zuchelli Sr., 89, of 344 Dewey Circle, Ridgway, died Thursday evening, Dec. 4, 2014 following a brief illness.
He was born July 29, 1925 in Weedville, son of the late Ettore and Irene (Trentini) Zuchelli.
He married Rita M. Rucinski on Nov. 6, 1948, and she survives.
He had resided in Ridgway for 57 years and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, and the Ridgway Fire Department - Montmorenci Station for over 50 years.
Bernice Fay (Thompson) Shaver, 93, of East Lackawannock Township, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2014 at 11:01 p.m. at Countryside Nursing Home in Mercer.
She was born July 6, 1921 in Fox Township, daughter of the late Waid M. Thompson and Fannie K. Moyer.
She was married to William J. Shaver on July 11, 1941, he preceded her in death June 13, 1999.
She was a homemaker, member of Mercer United Methodist Church for 61 years, Mercer United Methodist Women, and had been a Kersey High School graduate.
Frances D. Eckert, 98, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of Bucktail Trail, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Elk Haven, on her motherâ€™s birthday.
She was born March 8, 1916 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pfingstler Dietz. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Leoâ€™s High School, Class of 1934. She was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring in 1981 after 28 years of service.
On Aug. 17, 1935 in Portageville, N.Y., she married Herbert G. Eckert, who preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1976.
Lana J. Robinson, 74, of 90 North Park Place in DuBois, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 3, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born May 6, 1940 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Rennie and Elise (Wise) Robinson.
She had resided in Ridgway for most of her life, and she was Protestant by faith.
She had been employed by the Ridgway Area School District as a teacher for many years, and following her retirement, she worked several years for Beacon Light.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, and she was preceded in death by her parents.
Lyle Yale, 78, of Yale Drive, Brockport, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 at his residence.
Born Dec. 30, 1935 in Brockport, he was the son of the late Eli and Bernice Sidelinger Yale Sr.
On Jan. 7, 1956, he was married to Janet Snedden and she survives.
Retired, he had been employed at Keystone Carbon in St. Marys. Lyle enjoyed tinkering around his house, especially cutting the grass. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons, Toby and Matt Nashadka.
Linda Lee Reams, 66, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014.
She was born Jan. 30, 1948 in Warren. She was married to Brice Reams, who preceded her in death.
She grew up in Ridgway before moving to Johnsonburg. She spent the last four years of her life in New Mexico.
She is survived by her children, Michelle McMinn, Denise Kunes, Renee Hicks, Bryan Reams, and Stacey Warner; one brother and three sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Holly McMinn.
Wayne D. Rapp, 78, of 269 Highland Rd., Kane, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, 2014 following an extended illness.
Born May 26, 1936 in Sackett, he was the son of Lawrence W. and Lillian F. Whipple Rapp. On Nov. 10, 1956 in Kane, he married Patricia J. Neely, who died in 1993.
Wayne worked for National Fuel Gas in various positions, retiring as an electrician in 1996Â after 33 years of service. During that time he also owned and operated Wayne's Sales &Â Service, performing small engine repair from his home.
Grace C. Gregory, 90, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of 596 S. St. Marys St., St. Marys, died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Rasselas, a daughter of the late Maurice and Mary Keilocker MacDonald.
On May 23, 1953 in St. Leo's Church, she married Leo E. Gregory, who preceded her in death July 4, 1987.
Richard Joseph Peter Kowalski, 50, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.
Beloved brother, uncle, and friend, he was born July 2, 1964.
A resident of Johnsonburg, and a 1983 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School, he was an employee of Roy B. Constable's Stores. Richard was loved by many, and always brought a special spirit into any room. He lived life to the fullest every day. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, and playing cards with friends.
