Louis S. Morelli, 89, of 1223 Million Dollar Highway, Kersey, died on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at his home following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 24, 1924 in Kersey, a son of the late Lino and Mary Tamburlin Morelli.
On June 21, 1947, he married the late Alice Wolack Morelli, who preceded him in death on July 1, 2007.
William A. Boderocco, 86, a resident at Highland View Health Care Center in Brockway, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at Highland View.
He was born Sept. 30, 1927 in DuBois, son of the late William B. and Jemima McMeekin Boderocco.
He was Presbyterian by faith, and was a member of the Sons of Italy Club in Brockway.
He had been employed at the Ink Plant in Ridgway prior to his retirement.
He is survived by a cousin, Teddy McMeekin of Hinton, W. Va., and is also survived by numerous second and third generation cousins.
Joseph V. Parana, 81, of 400 Rock St., Ridgway, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013.
He was born Jan. 22, 1932 in Johnsonburg, the son of the late Frank and Mary Raubenstrauch Parana.
He married Sara J. Ames, and she predeceased him on Oct. 15, 2012.
He attended Holy Rosary schools.
Mr. Parana was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Angeline Facchine, 94, of a lifelong resident of Shawmut Road, Brockport, and currently a resident at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 surrounded by her
children at at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born Jan. 1, 1919 in Brandy Camp, daughter of Angelo and Louisa Mariucci Armanini.
She was the devoted wife of Joseph G. Facchine, who she married on July 12, 1947. He died Dec. 3, 1988.
She was a member at Holy Cross Church in Brandy Camp.
Angeline was a member of the Rosary Society and the Blue Army.
Ralph A. Gasbarre, 78, of 112 Cushing Ave., Johnsonburg, died Wednesday night, Dec. 18, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 20, 1935 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Sabatino and Elizabeth Mangine Gasbarre.
On July 2, 1960 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, he married Mary Bliss and she survives.
A lifelong Johnsonburg resident, he attended Johnsonburg public schools, and was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg.
Carolyn Sue McDaniels, 76, of 12 Short St., Ridgway, died early Thursday morning, Dec. 19, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Kane, daughter of the late Edwin K. and Sybil L. (Pytcher) Galbreath. She married Patrick D. McDaniels on July 18, 1958; he survives. She had resided in Ridgway for most of her life and was a graduate of the Ridgway High School.
Sue was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She had been employed by the Ridgway Area School District for 35 years.
Charles W. Stephenson, 80, of 807 Allegheny Ave. Oil City, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born Dec. 25, 1932 in Sharon, he was the son of the late George W. Stephenson and I. Marie Henshaw Stephenson.
He graduated from Ridgway High School. A veteran of the United States Army, he was a Corporal serving from March 26, 1953 until March 23, 1955 and had received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Joan L. Hoyt Gilmore, 75, of 80 Oak St., Wilcox died on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 at Kane Community Hospital following a brief illness
She was born on Sept. 13, 1938 in Johnsonburg, daughter of Paul "Buck" and Edna Martinez Williams Stewart.
She married Joseph R. Gilmore on Feb. 14, 1970 in the Wilcox Lutheran Church. He died July 9, 2007.
Roger Francis â€śPickleâ€ť Mann, 73, of Second Avenue, Johnsonburg, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at home after a short illness.
He was born Feb. 2, 1940 in Ridgway, son of Marlin Francis Mann, deceased, and Vada (Kolonski) Mann, who survives.
On Feb. 22, 1960, he married Catherine Noreen (Glover), who survives.
He worked with many local companies, including Keystone Carbon, Johnsonburg Builders Supply, Johnsonburg Paper Mill, Paper City Transfer, Kwik Fill, and at one time was co-owner of The Cabaret, currently known as the Kopper Kettle.
Helen R. Goetz, 93, of 548 E. Kaul Ave., St. Marys, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illnes.
She was born Dec. 8, 1920 in North Fork, daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia Novosel Skok.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools and Sacred Heart School. She was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company.
On Aug. 17, 1946, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Richard J. Goetz, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1993.
