Sharon I. Daughenbaugh Blose, age 64, a resident at Golden Living Center in Clarion and formerly of Brockway, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at U.P.M.C. - Seneca.
She was born July 25, 1948 in DuBois, daughter of Lloyd and Irene Colgan Daughenbaugh.
Sharon was a Christian by faith. A 1967 graduate of the Ridgway High School, Sharon was an artist and she loved to paint and draw. She also enjoyed ceramics and crafts of all different kinds. She also had a love for animals. She was a homemaker.
Ruth M. Baumgratz, 82, of 521 Church St., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Dunkirk, N.Y., daughter of the late Albert and Sophia Wojcinski Griswold. On Sept. 25, 1954 in Dunkirk, N.Y. she married Carl F. "Harry" Baumgratz; who survives.
She was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 1948, and resided in St. Marys since 1952. She was a former employee of Stackpole Carbon Co., and Berman's & BJ's Apparel.
Redemptorist missionary, Reverend John Joseph Salamon, 93, died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Saint John Neumann Residence in Stella Maris, Timonium, Md., while surrounded by the members of his religious community who were praying for him.
On Saturday, Jan. 26, a viewing was held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the first floor Chapel at Stella Maris, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Following the Mass, interment took place at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, in Baltimore, Md.
Harry L. Fulmer, 89, of Portland Mills, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Lake City, the son of the late Francis and Annie Smith Fulmer.
He married Bettie M. Bugdon in 1947 and moved to Portland Mills, where he resided until his death. Bettie predeceased Harry on Aug. 2, 1990, after a long battle with cancer.
Harry was a WWII veteran who served in the U.S. Navy on the Destroyer USS Kimberly, serving in the Pacific.
He was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge of Ridgway and The Tin Can Sailors Organization.
Ruby Gamarino, 92, of Brockport, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 14, 1920 in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie Steis.
She was a graduate of St. Leoâ€™s School. She worked at Stackpole Carbon for four years, at the 5 and 10 Store in Ridgway for three years, and at Brockway Glass for three years.
David C. â€śTubbyâ€ť LaBenne, 85 of Frostproof, Fla., formerly of DuBois, entered into Godâ€™s eternal care Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Avon Park, Fla. He was the husband of the late Helen (Platt) LaBenne who died Sept. 30, 2001.
Born March 7, 1927 in DuBois he was the son of the late Leon E. and Beatrice (Foster) LaBenne.
Mr. LaBenne was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. David was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. He was employed as a foreman with Jackson China and later with Owens Brockway for seven years until his retirement. David enjoyed hunting, carpentry and yard work.
Ernest C. "Ernie" Baughman, 85, of 116 Gerber Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at his residence.
He was born May 2, 1927, in Shippenville, son of the late Alfred and Muriel Wingard Baughman. On May 15, 1948, in St. Marys, he married Bertha L. Gerber, who survives.
He had also made his home with his aunt and uncle, Robert and Mertyl Kirkland. He attended schools in Hallton and Mundorf. He had worked for Brockway Glass and retired from Stackpole Carbon Co., where he had worked for 38 years, and drove school bus for more than 50 years.
Georgiana Louise Simchick, 65, of 1625 Bendigo Road, Johnsonburg died Wednesday evening, January 23, 2013, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 29, 1947 in Ridgway, daughter of George and the late Mary Chupa Cherry.
She married Richard Simchick on January 29, 1966 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, and he survives.
Alfred E. Shippling, 81, of 721 Evergreen Road, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Johnsonburg, son of the late Adolph and Luisa Granitza Shippling. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, class of 1949. He also graduated Williamsport Technical Institute in 1956. He was a retired employee of the Keystone Carbon Co., retiring in 1995 after over 35 years of service.
Mary Katheryn Eliason, 65, of Kokomo, Ind., passed away at 8:58 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2013 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.
Born Feb. 1, 1947 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Everett Moulden and Garnet (Heath) Moulden. On Sept. 30, 1967, in Kokomo, she married Daniel C. Eliason, and he survives.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed camping, playing cards, games, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Center.
