Patricia A. Manley, 72, formerly of 101 North Mill St., Ridgway, died Thursday evening, Nov. 28, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 17, 1940 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Dr. P.H. and Mary (Glen) Manley. She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Funeral services for Patricia A. Manley will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Roger A. Peterson, pastor of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Thayer Memorial Cemetery.
Grady J. Cherry of 257 Rasselas Rd., Wilcox, died on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 in DuBois, the son of Stephen and Heather Tressler Cherry.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnsonburg.
Grady James fought for nine days for his family to get to know him. He was brave and determined and never gave up until the last moment. He is God's angel and proved that miracles really do happen even if they only last nine days.
Bonnie A. Johnson, 83, of 2011 Sizerville Rd., Emporium, died at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie on Saturday morning, Nov. 23, 2013.
She was born Jan. 9, 1930 in Wharton, daughter of the late Lester and Nora Jefferies Brown.
She married the late Harold Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson had worked at Sylvania and later for Northern Tier for many years. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a selfless, loving wife and mother and will be missed greatly. Heaven has gained another angel.
Freda M. Frank Dunworth, 96, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, formerly of 329 Mill St., Johnsonburg, died Thursday morning, Nov. 21, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 28, 1917 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late William and Mattie Falkenberg Frank.
She married Harold Dunworth on May 8, 1935 in Mayville, N.Y. He died April 6, 1976.
Pauline M. â€śPollyâ€ť Fox, 67, of 802 Washington St., St. Marys, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at her home.
She was born Sept. 2, 1946 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Paul and Margie Wicks Herzing.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School. She was a former employee of Quality Components.
On July 12, 1969, in St. Leoâ€™s Church, she married Dennis T. â€śDennyâ€ť Fox, who preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 2009.
Mrs. Fox was a member of the St. Maryâ€™s Church. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and her dog, Marley.
Gloria Katherine Donovan, 87, of St. Marys, formerly of Ridgway and Smethport, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 in Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys.Â
She was born Sept. 22, 1926 in Shamokin, a daughter of Elvin W. and B. Katherine Wilson Long.Â On June 20, 1947, in Williamsport, she married James Edward Donovan who died Aug. 17, 1998.
Mrs. Donovan was a graduate of Williamsport High School and attended Lock Haven State Teacherâ€™s College. She was employed as the food services director at the Ridgway High School for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
Mary M. (Mil) Smith, 92, formerly of 101 N. Mill St., Ridgway, died Sunday morning, Nov. 17, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 17, 1921 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Reider) Smith.
She had resided in Ridgdway for most of her life and was a graduate of St. Leo's High School. She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and was very active within the church. She enjoyed taking care of her family.
She had been employed by Sylvania for over 30 years.
Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Judy A. Leahy, 62, of 432 East Main St., Ridgway, died Saturday morning, Nov. 16, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 9, 1951 in Washington, Pa., the daughter of the late Kenneth and Juanita Sweet Watson.
Raymond "Gabby" Burkhardt, 74, of Export, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 21, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Francis and Grace (Kelly) Burkhardt.
Gabby was the epitome of life itself. He knew how to live and how to love. He was always busy with one of his projects or helping someone else. He loved to share his magic and delighted in the wonderment of it all. He made us all believe. His numerous stories and jokes could always light up a room. He would look forward to winter and the first snowfall so he could go snowmobiling.
Joseph M. Sorge, 89, formerly of 268 Euclid Ave., Ridgway, died Monday morning, Nov. 11, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born Feb. 10, 1924 in Ridgway, son of the late Frank and Albina (Lupilo) Sorge. He married Kathleen M. Gerg on July 5, 1947 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Kersey. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2009.
