Dr. Frederick L. â€śFredâ€ť Hoover D.C. Jr., 81, of DuBois, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his home.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1930 in Clearfield, the son of Frederick Logan Hoover, Sr. and Mildred (Walker) Hoover.
Dr. Hoover graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelorâ€™s degree in Agriculture and the Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa.
He was very dedicated to his profession and helped many people at his practice, throughout his more than 55 years of service.
Dr. Hoover was protestant by faith.
Jane G. Sorg, 89, of 561 Rock St., St. Marys, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born March 9, 1923 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Herman and Genevieve Mayer Gregory. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1941.
On Oct. 12, 1948 in the St. Maryâ€™s Church, she married Paul J. Sorg, who preceded her in death on May 25, 1990.
Michael J. Zwald, 39, of 35 South St., Ridgway, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following an industrial accident.
He was born July 27, 1972 in St. Marys, the son of W. James and Sandra Salter Zwald, who survive, of St. Marys. On July 11, 1998 in the Queen of the World Church, he married April M. Whiteman, who survives.
Edward "Epp" Addeo, 91, of 415 Ridgway Ave., Johnsonburg, died Sunday morning, April 1, 2012 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Dec. 29, 1920 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Frank and Dora Cerro Addeo.
On Nov. 27, 1946, he married Rose E. Azzato. She preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 1990.
He was a lifelong resident of Johnsonburg and graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1939.
He was a WWII Coast Guard veteran, having served as a Seaman First Class aboard the cargo transport ship "Alameda" and the USS LST 761.
David John Frantz Jr., 55, died suddenly on Friday, March 30, 2012 at his home in Hiller.
He was born Nov. 11, 1956 in DuBois, the son of the late David "Yunk" Frantz Sr.
He was in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the West Brownsville American Legion Post 940 and the director and State Officer of Region 1.
He loved his family; riding bikes; his pets, Jack Daniels; and cooking on the grill.
Ann E. Abraham, 81, formerly of Ridgway, died Friday evening at the Kane Community Hospital following a brief illness.
