Walter E. Biel, 91, of 3712 Wilcox Rd., Wilcox, died Thursday morning, April 19, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1921 in Portage, son of the late John E. and Anna Biel Biel. On Dec. 28, 1939, he married Elsie Marie Jordan Austin; she preceded him in death March 11, 1973.
He resided in Wilcox most of his life and attended Wilcox schools. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, Rasselas, and the Wilcox Sportsmen's Club. He was an avid woodsman, hunter and fisherman. He loved vegetable and flower gardening and bowling.
