Mildred M. Haberberger, 92, of 1036 Theresia St., St. Marys, died at Elk Regional Health Center on Friday morning, March 30, 2012.
She was born Aug. 20, 1919 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late John A. and Cecilia M. Feldbauer Braun.
On July 6, 1945 in St. Marys Church, she married the late Cletus J. "Beeps" Haberberger, who preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1990.
Thomas P. "Tom" Weaver, 63, of 613 First Ave., Johnsonburg, died Wednesday evening, March 28, 2012, at his residence following an illness of 15 months.
He was born on March 24, 1949 in Vestaburg, son of the late Clarence and Isabelle Kittle Weaver.
He married Mary Winifred Hoh on March 17, 1973 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, and she survives.
Kathleen R. Smith, age 74, of 32 1/2 Morgan Ave., Ridgway died early Thursday morning, March 29, 2012 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born August 24, 1937 in Shurite, Allegheny County. She was married to Raymond C. Smith, he preceded her in death on August 31, 2011. She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was Protestant by faith.
Nanette Caggiano, 82, of 28 Pierce Ave., Ridgway, died Tuesday, March 28, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center after a short illness.
She was born April 12, 1929, in New York City, N.Y., the daughter of the late Anthony and Grace DePaolo Romandetti. On May 31, 1947, she married Rudolph Caggiano, who predeceased her on May 14, 2004.
Robert P. Auman, 84, of 310 George St., St. Marys, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
He was born April 1, 1927 in St. Marys, son of the late Leonard J. and Florence Kerner Auman.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Mary's Parochial School and Central Catholic High School. He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Co., retiring in 1987 after 40 years of service.
On June 16, 1951 in the St. Maryâ€™s Church, he married Margery M. Dippold, who survives.
Mary Chupa Cherry, 93, of Bendigo Road, Johnsonburg, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a short illness.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1918, in Avella, Pa., daughter of the late George Chupa and Anna (Ighnatko) Chupa. In 1946, she married George Cherry, who survives.
Born and raised in Avella, she came to Johnsonburg in 1945.
She had worked as a streetcar operator in Pittsburgh and in the Drabo Shipyard of Pittsburgh where she worked as a welder, manufacturing landing craft during WWII.
Stephen A. Metro, age 85, of Julia Street, Johnsonburg, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born April 4, 1926 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Angelo and Nora (Foster) Metro.
On Sept. 17, 1949, he married Carol Ann (Jenkins); she preceded him in death Jan. 24, 1994.
A U.S. Marine veteran having served during World War II, he worked for Clearwater Tool & Die while in California and as a custodian for Johnsonburg schools, retiring in 1997.
Edith E. Koch, age 98, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at the Elk Regional Health Center. She was a former resident of Pinecrest Manor and Ridgmont Personal Care. Edith was born Sept. 5, 1913 in Ridgway to the late John and Matilda (Olson) Werner. On July 23, 1941, she married Francis J. Koch.
Edith was a longstanding member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School, and was involved in the Altar Guild, WELCA, and was a member of Eastern Star. She graduated from the Ridgway High School in 1932. She was given a life membership to the Elks Lodge #872 after her husband's death.
Anthony â€śTonyâ€ť Joseph Marcolivio, 95, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2012 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living in Kernersville, N.C.
Born in Ridgway on Feb. 9, 1917, he was one of seven children and the eldest son of the late Giuseppe and Michalina Marcolivio. Following graduation from Ridgway High School, he entered the U.S. Postal Service as a rural route carrier in Ridgway. On Jan. 21, 1942, he married his wife, Monica Joyce Largey. The two were married for 69 years until her death in 2011.
Colonel Charles â€śChuckâ€ť William Stover, Jr., 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Hospice House in Williamsburg, Va. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret (Peggy); his children, Brian, Chuck, and Margaret; his six brothers and sisters, Garold, Eudora, Karen, Bob, Cheryl, and John; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel, Braxton, and Morgan.
