David J. "Bud" Silvis, 86, of 152 Baumer Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Pinecrest Manor after an illness of the past several months.
He was born on March 27, 1925, in St. Marys, the son of the late David and Irene Cheatle Silvis. In November 1949 at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, he married Loraine E. Overturf, who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1999.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. He was employed as a chemical engineer at the Stackpole Carbon Co., retiring in 1983.
