A Johnsonburg man charged with sexually assaulting a female neighbor on two separate occasions, within days of each other, accepted a plea bargain in Elk County Court that saw felony charges of rape, sexual assault, burglary, and aggravated indecent assault dropped in exchange for his pleading guilty to a reduced charge of misdemeanor indecent assault.

Parents charged with kidnapping child waive hearings

MARYS – A Kersey couple charged with taking their own 11-month-old child from a relative's custody waived hearings in District Court Tuesday on charges stemming from the April 22 incident in which the two allegedly burglarized the legal guardian's home and snatched the child before leading cops on a chase that ended in downtown St. Marys.

Deer poachers sentenced in Elk County Court Monday

Three St. Marys residents charged with killing four whitetail deer outside of hunting season and processing the animals in a St. Marys garage, pled guilty in Elk County Court Monday to various counts of unlawful killing of big game.
