An ordination ceremony will be held this Sunday at 5:30 p.m. for Jennifer Fair at the Faith United Methodist Church of Christ at 400 Ash St. in Ridgway.
Students and teachers at Johnsonburg Elementary School participated in the County Wide Pink Day on Friday, Oct.Â 19.Â Teachers also donated money through a jeans dayÂ to be given to Hahne Cancer Center of DuBois.
On Aug. 19, 2012, members of the Stride for Stride 4-H Club competed at this year's District VIII 4-H Horse Show held in Potter County. With deck replacement work complete, PennDOT plans to fully open two Elk County bridges on Friday, Oct. 19. Making the repairs will keep the bridges in service for years to come. Both bridges are located on Route 949 near Portland Mills. The bridges are about 500 feet apart, with one spanning Toby Creek and one spanning the railroad. Traffic has been controlled at the bridges by temporary signals. Once both lanes are opened on the bridges, PennDOT will turn the signals off and remove them.
This year's 4th Annual Turkey Trot will feature an inaugural marathon and half-marathon in addition to the traditional 5K walk and 5K run on Sunday, Nov. 4.
