Stephanic proceeds to trial in shooting death of girlfriend

ST. MARYS – Following a Friday morning preliminary hearing Michael J. Stephanic Jr., 44, of St. Marys, will be held over for trial on charges he allegedly shot and killed June Talmadge, 48, during a Sept. 3 incident in the parking lot of Eastern Sintered Alloys.

Middle School students to perform "Wonderland"

November 14, 2013

Ridgway Area Middle School students will be performing "Wonderland" as their school production this year.
"Wonderland" is a musical adapted from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass by James DeVita with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur.
The play will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 7 p.m. in the middle/high school auditorium.

Kersey man shares tale of successful elk harvest

QUEHANNA – Kersey resident Ronald Wildfire was the lone Elk County resident drawn for a license in this year's elk hunt, and Wildfire was especially lucky in that he was one of 26 individuals selected for a bull tag. He successfully harvested a 6x6 bull elk in Elk Hunt Zone 5 last Wednesday.
