During their regular meeting Tuesday morning, county commissioners heard from members of the Ridgway Borough Council regarding their recent request to purchase several condemned homes within the borough from the county repository.
Ridgway, Pa. â€“ The Ridgway Borough Council held their annual reorganization meeting Monday afternoon and welcomed new members Sam MacDonald and Steve Keener.
The council also elected Ralph Dussia as their new president. Dussia will be replacing Nina Stolburg, who served the council for 20 years and as president for the final four.
The Ridgway Township Board of Supervisors held their annual reorganization meeting Monday evening. The board will remain the same with John Gardner as chairman, Rick Glover as vice-chairman, and Milly Bowers as secretary-treasurer. The solicitor will remain Jim DeVittorio, who has served the board of supervisors for over 20 years.
Unintended consequences from recent legislation on the state and national level have made it more difficult for volunteer fire departments to survive, according Dave Parsons, a member of the Ridgway Fire Department.
