On Tuesday evening, Gary Thorp, professional land surveyor for TREK Development Group, provided Ridgway Borough Council members as well as area residents with information concerning the proposed subdivision behind Ridgmont Personal Care Home, located along Montmorenci Road.

Big Brothers Big Sisters dinner held

In honor of National Mentor Month, the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Jefferson, Elk and McKean County held a buffet dinner and presentation on Tuesday at Aiello's Cafe in Ridgway.
Following a dinner of roast beef, chicken and stuffed shells, Sara Sutter and Heidi Stahlnecker gave a presentation on the success stories of BBBS in the surrounding area.

CAPSEA may receive funding increase

Governor Tom Corbett recently announced that his proposed 2014-2015 budget would increase funding for rape crisis and domestic violence services.
“Protecting our citizens and helping them in times of need is one of the core functions of government,” Corbett said in a recent press release. “I am proposing we continue our commitment to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault and provide support services for victims through a $2.2 million funding increase to these critical programs next year.”
