ERIE – A federal court has ordered that a St. Marys woman's prison salary of between 12 cents and 40 cents an hour be used to pay over $1.5 million dollars in restitution to her victims.

A jury of 12 Elk County residents, ready to hear the case of a Ridgway man charged with growing marijuana at his home, were sent home after an 11th hour plea bargain and sentence were entered behind closed doors in Elk County Court Tuesday.
KERSEY – According to police reports, on Monday morning a passerby in a remote, wooded area of Kersey found what authorities are calling a pipe bomb.
The Ridgway Area School District Board of Directors approved a proposed final budget that will not increase property taxes during a regular meeting Tuesday night in the library of the Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.

Pennsylvania has the 10th highest rate of drug overdoses in the nation with 15 drug-related deaths per 100,000 people in 2008. This in a country where 100 people die drug-related deaths daily and accidental overdoses claimed 27,000 people in 2007, a number that has risen five-fold since 1990 and has never been higher according to the Centers for Disease Control.
JOHNSONBURG – The Borough of Johnsonburg has received numerous complaints concerning a concrete wall located just south of the intersection of Route 219 and Main Street.

WILLIAMSPORT - A grand jury delivered a superseding indictment against the man charged with the gunpoint carjacking of an Emporium bank employee he blamed for the loss of his home in a mortgage foreclosure.
Due to numerous bear sightings within the Borough of Ridgway the Pennsylvania Game Commission is advising all bird feed, garbage and other food sources be removed from yards or areas accessible to bears.
