April 15th
ST. MARYS – A St. Marys man has been charged with sexually assaulting a relative for more than two years beginning when the girl was seven years old and ending with her 10th birthday.
ST. MARYS – A St. Marys woman has been charged with heroin trafficking as part of an ongoing investigation by the Office of the Attorney General's Drug Task force and local police into the drug's resurgence in the area.
April 14th
ST. MARYS – Those looking to support the arts on a local level while enjoying some of the area's finest homemade soups are encouraged to attend the Elk County Council on the Arts (ECCOTA) Feed the Arts Soup Benefit being held Thursday.
PITTSBURGH – A 13-year-old Clarion girl, gone missing from her home in the early morning hours of March 28, has been safely recovered by police in South Dakota over a week after her disappearance and some 1,500 miles from her home.
April 12th
An accidental fire broke out early Friday morning at a Sherman Avenue residence in Ridgway.
According to reports, the two-story residence at 600 Sherman Ave. is owned by Dorli A. Pounds, age 29, of Ridgway. In a report filed by Corporal Greg Agosti, a Fire Marshal for the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Ridgway Fire Department, the fire was determined to be accidental in nature and resulted from a plastic toy melting in a forced air heating vent. Damage was estimated at $5,000. There were no injures. The call came in at 7:58 a.m.
The Model United Nations Team of the Ridgway Area High School, for the second consecutive year, has won the highest award at the the St. Bonaventure University Model UN Conference in Olean, N.Y.
WILCOX – Representatives from several state park agencies presented updates on projects at the East Branch Stakeholders Meeting held Thursday at the dam.
MT. JEWETT – A Johnsonburg pastor and his wife accused of starving their three adopted children had additional child endangerment charges filed against them in McKean County Court Thursday.

WILCOX – The date for repair completions of the East Branch Dam have been pushed back to 2018 with construction work on the project beginning next year.
JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Area School District Board of Directors approved a preliminary budget during a regular meeting held Thursday night in the library of the high school.
