JOHNSONBURG â€“ Lindberg Furniture recently purchased a 1976 Beechcraft plane which now sits atop the roof of their Johnsonburg store. The aircraft was used as a training plane for pilots in Virginia between the years of 1978 and 1989.
The Ridgway Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Flavors of Fall festival in downtown Ridgway on Saturday afternoon. Area residents shopped at the many booths offering crafts and homemade foods including tie-dyed items from Sammy's Stash.
ST. MARYS â€“ District Judge Mark Jacob granted a continuance during the preliminary hearing of Michael J. Stephanic Jr., 44, of St. Marys, who is currently incarcerated in the Elk County Prison on charges he allegedly shot and killed June Andrus during a Sept. 3 incident in the parking lot of Eastern Sintered Metals.
BROCKWAY â€“ This incident occurred as members of the Pennsylvania State Police and the Jefferson County Drug Task Force were serving a search warrant on the occupants of the Kenneth Lees Sr. residence, located at 1881 Cemetery Hill Rd., near the Borough of Brockway, Snyder Township, Jefferson County.
BROCKWAY â€“ A Pa. State Police trooper was shot in the neck Thursday afternoon while serving a warrant at a Cemetery Hill Road residence in Brockway, according to police who called it an "active shooter" situation.
PSP reported that at approximately 2:30 p.m., two troopers were serving a warrant to man at 1881 Cemetery Hill Rd. in Brockway when shots rang out.
One trooper was hit in the neck and the other reportedly pulled him to safety. The injured law enforcement was flown from the scene to UPMC Altoona at 3:15 p.m.; he was reportedly in stable condition and conscious.
WILCOX â€“ Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers were at East Branch Lake Park Wednesday morning in order to provide updates for the ongoing East Branch Dam Safety Initiative Project.
According to scanner reports from Thursday afternoon, local authorities have responded to an area referred to as Cemetery Hill in Brockway in response to multiple shots being fired.
According to WJAC-TV, "a state police spokesperson in Harrisburg confirmed one state trooper was injured in what was described as an 'ongoing situation' on Cemetery Hill Road."
Scanner reports also stated that area schools were on lockdown.

Members of the Elk County Solid Waste Authority were given a tour of the Greentree Landfill Tuesday, led by Don Henrichs of Veolia Environmental Services and area manager of the landfill.
