January 15th
During the regular scheduled Ridgway Area School District board meeting held Jan. 15, 2013 the Finance Manager Brent Rhoads presented a preliminary budget that projects some savings. The preliminary budget will be presented in February.
CLARION COUNTY — Clarion-based Pennsylvania State Police have reported that a 19-year-old woman reported missing over the weekend was found deceased inside her vehicle — which she was last seen driving Friday evening — Tuesday morning at 7 a.m.
PSP report that the victim, Devan C. Knapp of Brookville, was discovered in the vehicle along Summerville Drive in Millcreek Township, Clarion County, by a passerby. Members of PSP-Clarion and PSP-Punxsy reported to the scene.Â
The incident remains under open investigation, with an autopsy to be conducted at a date and time yet to be determined.
The body of missing Brookville teen Devan C. Knapp, 19, was reportedly located earlier this morning in Millcreek Township, Clarion County. A cause of death has not been announced and an autopsy will be performed. JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg Borough Police Chief Bryan Parana reported on a recent bank robbery during a brief council meeting held Monday afternoon.
JAY TWP. - With EQT recently announcing a tentative plan to drill in the Byrnes Run watershed, questions have been raised about the risks the activity poses to the water source for Jay and Huston townships.
January 13th
Members of the Cameron and Elk Counties Local Housing Options Team [LHOT] met Wednesday afternoon to continue preparations for the third annual housing expo, held on Feb. 7 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Edgewood Hall in St. Marys.
With the Elk Expo set to be revived this year, submissions of photographs or artwork are currently being sought to determine the design of the 2013 Elk Expo Patch.

The Ridgway Area School District is aiming to approve a preliminary budget in February during their regular board of directors meeting.
ST. MARYS – Elk County Catholic High School alumni are encouraged to show up sporting maroon and gold, ready to cheer on the Crusaders on Friday evening as part of ECC Alumni Spirit Night when the boys' basketball teams take on the Brookville Raiders.

JOHNSONBURG – Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies are still working to track down the man responsible for a brazen, broad-daylight armed robbery at the CNB Bank in Johnsonburg on Tuesday.
