The Borough of Ridgway will work to improve its emergency response plans with the Ridgway Fire Department in response to the brutal storm that swept through the area Thursday afternoon, July 26.
Ridgway Borough Council member Rich Parrish detailed the recommendations of the Fire, Police, Property and Equipment Committee during Monday night's regular council meeting.
According to the report, borough manager Martin Schuller reviewed the past storm damage of the fallen trees on the borough streets and alleys with committee members.
Many Ridgway residents have been taking notice and voicing their concerns over unsightly, light gray, silken webs in many of the trees within the borough.
The fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea [Drury], got off to an early start building its impressive silk tents on the ends of limbs and sometimes enclosing entire branches.
Ridgway Borough Manager Martin Schuller says despite the recent surge residents need not be concerned for the health of the trees.
