ST. MARYS – Taking care of an adult loved one with progressive physical or cognitive disabilities can be frustrating for both the adult and the caregiver at times. A program called Adult Day Services can give caregivers respite and provide a quality atmosphere for older adults who can no longer be left alone for long periods of time-- and now area residents may take advantage of a trial run.
ST. MARYS – An upcoming day camp for children and teens who have experienced a loss through death is being offered to area youth by Community Nurses, Inc.
The free, two-day "Camp Flutterbye" will be held Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at The Pines, located on 1008 Windfall Rd. in St. Marys.
ST. MARYS – On June 1 and 2, local Jaffa Shriners will be conducting the organization's Annual Shrine Hospital Crusade, which specifically benefits their hospitals located in Erie and Philadelphia.
Throw on your best polka dot shirt and head on down to the Courthouse Gazebo in downtown Ridgway this Friday night to watch the Friday Niters perform polka hits as part of the polka-themed First Friday initiative presented by the Elk County Concert Series.
The Friday Niters will be performing Friday, June 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to kick off the Eighth Annual Elk County Summer Concert Series.
Emily Karyl Ames was the salutatorian of the Ridgway Area High School Class of 2012 and spoke about the memories made through the past years of school during the RHS graduation ceremonies held Sunday afternoon at Memorial Field.
Ames referenced a speech from "Grey's Anatomy" during her opening statements.
