Fire destroys home in Lamont

April 16, 2012

LAMONT – Area fire departments were dispatched to a structure fire Monday afternoon at 3:07 p.m. at 2145 Old Lamont Rd. in Jones Township.
Kane responded with Engine 56 and 57 and Rescue truck 51.
Tim Wile, chief of the Kane Volunteer Fire Department, identified the owners as Alan and Sheryl Pence.

Survey: Water rates fall within average

During Monday night's regular Ridgway Borough Council meeting Environmental Manager Paul McCurdy reported that the water and sewer rates fall within the average for the state following the recent publishing of a water and sewer rate survey.
"The water and sewer rates survey was just published and it shows we are right in the average for our state," McCurdy said.
In other business, the Source Water Protection Plan has been approved by the Pa. Department of Environmental Protection.
