ST. MARYS – Parent company THR & Associates is bringing the International Coin Collectors Association to St. Marys in order to purchase coins, paper currency, gold and silver from area residents for their global network of collectors, dealers and refineries.
The free event is open to the public and will be held at the Comfort Inn, 195 Comfort Lane, St. Marys, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 2 through Friday, April 6.
Women and Infant Care (WIC), a program offered through the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, continues to thrive.
"Our breastfeeding education component of WIC continues to strengthen," said Julie Kasmierski, WIC director. "Our breastfeeding peer counseling contacts are at an all-time high. During the month of January, our breastfeeding peer counselors had 284 contacts with pregnant and/or breastfeeding mothers."
The figure climbed to 323 contacts in February.

Federal road funding is set to expire this weekend and the monetary halt has caused considerable unrest amongst area planners.
With increased activity and financial restraints routinely increasing, officials at the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission (NCPRPDC) are seeking to create more efficiency as they move forward.

Members of the Ridgway Fire Department anxiously awaited the arrival of the newest addition to their fleet Tuesday afternoon at the Central Hose Company along North Broad Street in downtown Ridgway.
The newest addition to a fleet of seven fire trucks is a hybrid which will serve a dual-purpose by combining the functionality of a pumper and rescue truck into one.
With the fire department facing a manpower shortage, fire chief John Wygant said it would be easier if two trucks were combined into one.

The Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the Third Annual Community Yard Sale scheduled for May 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.
The Ridgway Main Street program and the Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce are looking forward to several events during the spring and summer.
"Ridgway Main Street and the Chamber are partnered together on our retail tours, tours of the specialty shops in the downtown area, usually by foot although some of it can be driven," said Michelle Bogacki, Main Street manager.
The wine and herb festival will be May 4 from 5-9 p.m. in downtown Ridgway.

ST. MARYS – April School of Dance presented the Dynamic Dance Competition Company (DDCC) Showcase on Sunday afternoon at ECCHS. The company, overseen by artistic director Jennifer Blankenship of Kane, performed a total of 15 pieces, including six solos. DDCC consists of 18 dancers ranging in age from 9-18 years old who are divided into three different companies. The group recently concluded their competition season.

ST. MARYS – From silver tap-dancing aliens to dancers perched atop a six-foot wall, such unique routines have consistently ranked among the judges' favorites during this year's competition season of the Dynamic Dance Competition Company, an 18-member troop from April School of Dance in St. Marys.
The group, overseen by artistic director Jennifer Blankenship of Kane, recently concluded their season, during which they brought home a myriad of top-place trophies.
