JOHNSONBURG - A Johnsonburg man charged with sexually assaulting a female neighbor twice within a span of two days was in District Court in Johnsonburg Wednesday for his preliminary hearing on the charges.

JOHNSONBURG - A Ridgway woman charged with theft after allegedly failing to return a laptop computer to her former employer following her resignation was in District Court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge George A. "Tony" King.

This is how presiding Senior Trial Court Judge John Cleland of Kane labels the child sexual abuse case against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.
Cleland, speaking Tuesday before sentencing at a packed Centre County courtroom in Bellefonte, told the defendant "you abused trust in those who trusted you."
BELLEFONTE – The "Tickle Monster" will be going to prison, most likely for the remainder of his life.
Jerry Sandusky, 68, convicted in June of molesting 10 young boys over a 15-year period, was sentenced Tuesday to spend a minimum of 30 years in prison.Â

ST. MARYS - A St. Marys man charged with arson and related offenses after allegedly setting fire to his father's home waived his preliminary hearing on Tuesday before District Judge Mark Jacob.
Steven Ray Hulings, 25, of St. Marys, was in District Court Tuesday after being charged on Oct. 4 for a July 14 arson at the 137 Lynch Rd. home of his father and stepmother, who were away on an out-of-town camping trip at the time of the incident.
The Ridgway Area School district held a Act 130 tax discussion during Tuesday night's regular school board meeting to further prepare voters for the November general election.
In attendance were several members of the general public and members of the Ridgway Area Teacher's Association [RATA].
The discussion, led by RASD Finance Manager Brent Rhoads, focused on a board approved referendum that is designed to repeal its existing earned income tax and replace the lost revenue by increasing the existing earned income tax by .4 percent.
