Employees and volunteers at the Ridgway Public Library are hoping to collect one million pennies as part of a fundraiser designated specifically for a new floor on the first floor of the library and a new porch.
The old tile floor area on the first floor will be redone as well as the wood on the porch outside.
According to Lann Yurchick, the library's director, it has been at least 15 years since the porch was redone.
The Ridgway Area Community United Fund may have kicked off its final campaign unless a member of the community volunteers as a chairperson.
The community fund has always been housed at the Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce with a chairperson recognized within the community.
