Borough approves purchase of fire truck

The Ridgway Borough Council voted unanimously in favor of permitting the Ridgway Fire Department to pursue purchasing a new rescue/pumper truck during Monday night's regular meeting.
The cost for the truck is estimated at $475,000.
A meeting of the Fire, Police, Property, and Equipment Committee was held on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the municipal building to discuss the proposal.
The fire department will pay $175,000 and is eligible for a two-percent loan of $150,000 with a payment of $964 for 15 years that the borough will pay.
