Infant massage classes offer relief and bonding

As one of its many programs, Parents as Teachers (PAT) - a part of Dickinson's Center Inc.'s Children's Prevention Services - offers a unique opportunity with its infant massage classes aimed at strengthening the bond between parents and their infant.
Certified Infant Massage Instructor and PAT educator Deanna Meyer teaches the classes, which demonstrate how massage benefits children by easing their discomfort, releasing tension, helping premature infants gain weight and helping asthmatic infants improve their breathing function.

Fire breaks out at Pennsy Restaurant

The Ridgway-based Pa. State Police report a fire marshal investigation that took placed on Aug. 21 at 2:10 p.m. at the Pennsy Restaurant owned by Michele A. Ritter of Kersey at 157 N. Broad St., Ridgway. According to reports, the Pa. State Police fire marshal and the Ridgway Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that damaged a two-story wood frame restaurant. The fire was contained to the attic and roof areas of the building. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire and the building was unoccupied. There were no injuries.
