Noxious weed survey receives positive response

August 2, 2011

According to Elk County Conservation District Manager Steve Putt, the noxious and invasive weed survey is receiving a positive response.
Putt has surveyed over 290 acres of land in finding the common Bush Honeysuckle and thistle plants on every site.
As of the last Conservation District meeting, Monday, July 25, Putt has completed 11 of his 12 scheduled surveys.
"I'm finding a lot of Bush Honeysuckle, the stuff seems to be everywhere in this county," Putt said. "Thistle of course is everywhere, bull thistle and the other thistles."
