Kersey man is sentenced to prison for bank fraud

ERIE – A Kersey man has been sentenced to seven months in federal prison on a felony charge of conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
Richard "Rick" Alan Raspatello, 56, of 1418 Million Dollar Highway, Kersey, who pleaded guilty to the charge, also has been ordered to make restitution in the amount of $86,953.14, according to documents filed in the U.S. District Court in Erie.

School district establishes guidelines for cell phones

JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Area School District recently approved a policy to establish guidelines limiting district employees' use of personal wireless devices.
“This includes any wireless device of a personal nature that is brought into the workplace, largely cell phones,” said superintendent Dr. Walter Fitch. “We have to make sure work and the students' safety is not compromised as employees are on their cell phones while they should be watching students or doing their work which they are getting paid for.
