ST. MARYS â€“ A one-vehicle rollover crash closed down a portion of Brusselles Street in St. Marys on Friday evening at approximately 9:50 p.m. The crash occurred in the vicinity of 1250 Brusselles St. During the crash the vehicle struck a utility pole, sheering off part of it and knocking down several power lines.
ST. MARYS â€“ On Friday a St. Marys man got a little more than he bargained for while treasure hunting and accidentally stumbled upon undetonated explosives.

KERSEY â€“ The Fox Township Community Park continued their Rock n' Roll Fridays last night with a performance from Frankly Swingin', a group performing hits by favorites such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Tony Bennett. On Friday, Aug. 1, the Dixie Doodlers jazz band will close out the series with a performance from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
KERSEY â€“ A new addition to Saint Boniface Parish is a wooden carving of the saint himself, created by Rick Boni, co-founder of Appalachian Arts Studio in Ridgway and the Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous.
The masterpiece, carved from bass wood, a favorite of the hand carvers, stands to the left of the altar in the church in Kersey.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ The Life and Independence for Today organization hosted its Disability and Aging Expo, which featured 47 local and regional vendors, Thursday at the fire hall in Johnsonburg.

John F. Hill Jr., 68, of 231 Grove Ave., Ridgway, died Wednesday evening, July 23, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 1, 1945 in Erie, son of the late John F. Hill Sr. and Helen E. (Smith) Hill
On Dec. 28, 1968, he married Karol Givens.
He had resided in Ridgway for the past 36 years, but he was also a former Kane resident.
He was a 1963 graduate of the Kane High School, a 1973 graduate of Penn State and a 1976 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam Era.

ST. MARYS â€“ An additional suspect has been charged as a result of a drug sting that was executed on Thursday, July 17.
Kristin M. (Kronenwetter) Moats, 33, of 325 Kaul Ave., is charged with two felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver controlled substances as well as the misdemeanor offenses of possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
