Ridgway wrestling won the majority of the matches wrestled on the mat but three forfeits helped propel Cameron County to a 38-30 win over the Elkers Tuesday night at Ridgway Area High School.
Ridgway won six of the 10 matches wrestled on the mat.
"They wrestled really well with a lot of emotion," Ridgway coach David Fordoski said. "The kids are really coming along. They're believing in what we're doing in the practice room and they're starting to bring it out to the mat."
JOHNSONBURG â€“ Authorities are on the lookout for a man who robbed a Johnsonburg bank at gunpoint Tuesday.
Johnsonburg Police Chief and lead investigator Bryan Parana said that it was roughly 1:50 p.m. Tuesday when a masked man armed with a pistol walked into the bank, approached a teller and demanded money before making off with an undisclosed sum.
"The individual fled on foot after being given an undetermined amount of cash and traveled east and down between First and Second Avenue towards Bergen Street," Parana said.
The Elk County Prison will have two additional part-time corrections officers in the fold after approval Tuesday from the county's board of commissioners.
As energy upgrades were completed at county venues in August last year, officials were pleased to report significant cost savings much sooner than anticipated.
William James Boylan Sr., 87, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.
He was born on March 26, 1925 in Kane, the son of the late Clarence and Kathryn (Renehan) Boylan.Â
He attended school at Saint Callistus and Kane high schools.Â He graduated from Kane High School in 1943.Â He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps (todayâ€™s Air Force) during World War II, where he served as a co-pilot.Â
According to reports, there was an armed robbery at the CNB Bank located along Market Street in Johnsonburg earlier this afternoon. The actor is believed to be a white male of unknown age who is allegedly wearing a gray hoodie, ski mask, and a red bandanna across his face. He is also believed to have a black handgun in his possession and was last seen traveling on foot along the "Avenues" headed towards Bendigo Road. Anyone encountering the actor should not approach him and instead should call 9-1-1. Check back for additional information as it becomes available.
A Johnsonburg man who pleaded guilty to 111 counts of burglary following a 13-month long string of break-ins at seasonal camps throughout Elk, McKean and Cameron counties over the course of a year was sentenced in Elk County Court Monday.

Mary Evelyn Schott, 87, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.
She was born July 18, 1925 in Conneaut Lake, the daughter of the late Anna Belle [McKay] and Edwin Burton Shontz.
June E. Pearson, 86, of Johnsonburg, died at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, on Sunday evening, Jan. 6, 2013.
She was born Jan. 27, 1926 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of the late Axel and Alla Bowers Pearson.
June was a member of First Baptist Church of Johnsonburg, where she had served many years as Vice Moderator, Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. June also served as President of the Anna B Class, and Womenâ€™s Missionary Society of the Allegheny River Association.
