Members of the Elk County Conservation District on Monday announced that maintenance work was completed at the West Creek Wetland Learning Center as well as river cleanup efforts on the Clarion.
ST. MARYS â€“ The Crystal Fire Department and St. Marys Ambulance were called out to a structure fire at 326 Walnut Street Sunday afternoon at 2:41 p.m.

Ridgway had four players shoot in the 30s in the Elkersâ€™ first home golf match of the season as Ridgway won 191-250 over Kane Thursday afternoon.
Ridgway was led by medalist Josh Roselli as he tallied a 36. T.J. Schlimm and Jake Klawuhn each had a 37 while Mitchell Stark had a 38. Cory Oknefski rounded out the team scoring with a 43.
Students at St. Leo Catholic School await the bus Wednesday afternoon after their first day of school. Area students were back in the classroom Wednesday as students began the 2013-2014 school year.
Richard G. Mendat, 81, DuBois, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Christ The King Manor, DuBois.
There was no public visitation. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Carmela T. (Millie) Caggiano, age 79, of 517 Montmorenci Ave., Ridgway, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 20, 2013 at her residence following a brief illness.
