Officials on Wednesday acknowledged receipt of an organizational budget draft at the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission although no official adoption was approved.

Johnsonburg head coach Jeff Peterson said it might still take a while for that realization to sink in with the players.
"It still feels like a dream to all of us," coach Peterson said. "It is a big deal because a small team in Elk County just won the first state championship in school history. This is one thing no one can take away from these kids, ever. It's theirs, they earned it."

Joan Margaret (May) Stark, 81 of Monroe, Ga., formerly of Ridgway, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at her residence following a stroke.
She was born on June 3, 1932 in Ridgway and is the daughter of the late Marvin and Margaret Stark.
She had resided in Florida most of her life before moving to Georgia in 2006. Mrs. May was a graduate of Ridgway High School in 1950. After her graduation she enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the administration career field for four years and received an honorable discharge.
Walter J. Polaski, 83, of Highland View Health Care in Brockway and formerly of Johnsonburg, died Tuesday morning, July 23, 2013 at Highland View Health Care following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Aug. 6, 1929 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Lawrence and Josephine Euken Polaski.
He married Dolores Espin in 1954. She died in October 1998.
Walter resided in Johnsonburg his entire life and graduated from Johnsonburg High School.
He was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, Rolfe Sportsmen's Club. He loved hunting and fishing and was an antiquer.
BERWICK â€“Â The St. Marys Little League Softball senior league all stars earned the first state title in St. Marys Little League Softball history with a 4-3 come from behind victory over Plains on Monday afternoon at Ber-Vaughn Park in Berwick, capping an exciting week of softball action for the St. Marys team.
Gary Lee Fitch, 64, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away unexpectedly as a result of a sudden heart attack on July 5, 2013.
Charles J. Cuneo, 66, of 116 Hemlock Road, St. Marys, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
He was born Aug. 26, 1946 in Ridgway, son of the late Joseph and Margaret Lee Cuneo.
He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, Class of 1964 and also attended Jeff Tech. He was a retired employee of SGL Carbon Company, retiring in 1998.
On Aug. 14, 1976 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Catherine M. Marconi, who survives.
