The St. Marys Legion baseball team swept Wilcox in a doubleheader played at Berwind Park on Thursday evening. St. Marys won the first game 9-0 and the second game 10-0 in five innings.
St. Marys had seven hits in the first game. For St. Marys, Dan Singer had a double and a single, Dan Stauffer two singles, Brad Dippold, Rudy Gleixner, Shane Haberberger each with a single. For Wilcox Tommy Roberts had a single.
Multiple injuries were reported Thursday due to a car crash on Rasselas Road.
Due to a traffic accident Rasselas Road is currently shut down at the Glen Hazel intersection. It appears there are five victims injured. Two helicopters are in route to the scene to transport two victims.

Despite rainy weather throughout the area lately, contractors have been working on a wide range of projects throughout the area. Several bridges are being worked on, from Millstone Township to Ridgway Borough and township, and various other projects, including Johnsonburg and annual tree trimming near roadways throughout the county.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ The Elk County Major League All-Stars moved on in the District 10 bracket with a 28-0, four-inning victory over Fox Township Tuesday night at Knothole Park in Johnsonburg.
Elk County was the away team in the game and scored in each of the four innings. Elk County scored four runs in the first and six runs in the second. Elk County then put together a 15-run third inning before adding three runs in the fourth.
DAGUS MINES â€“ The Ridgway American Legion baseball team took an early lead in Tuesday night's game at the Fox Township Legion field in Dagus Mines and never looked back, holding on for a 10-5 victory over the Post 511 squad. The game was played in a mix of rain and sunshine, and the only constant was the mud that covered the field.
ST. MARYS â€“ A community-wide disaster drill took place Monday evening at Morgan Advanced Materials along Hall Avenue in St. Marys.
A private pleasure boat filled with water sank near the marina Sunday morning. Reportedly no one was on board at the time of the accidental sinking. Rescue crews were quick to assist with recovery. It is unknown if the heavy weekend rains contributed to the submerging of the vessel.
