JOHNSONBURG â€“ Michael Shuey, a collegiate javelin thrower and Johnsonburg alumnus returned to town Tuesday afternoon after claiming a gold medal for the United States men's national team Saturday in the 2014 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) U-23 Championships held in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.
He posted a Penn State University record throw of 249 feet, 5 inches on his final attempt to claim the gold medal.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson, Elk and McKean County reviewed accomplishments and set goals at Tuesday's Annual Task Force Meeting at Aiello Cafe.

Jolly Wranglers 4WD is an off-road club located in Ridgway that is comprised of members who enjoy exploring back roads in four-wheel drive vehicles, as well as giving back to the community in any way they can. Following the May 21 flood, the club saw an opportunity to give back to the community.
