The Ridgway Township Municipal Authority discussed ongoing repairs of water lines in the Boot Jack area to help find leaks that are causing the township to lose approximately 17 percent of their water in that area.
The authority's works superintendents, Chris Klase and Andrew Gosnell, said that they have finished repairs on one section, but two more sections were identified as problem areas following leak detection testing that was done in the area.

At 2 p.m. on Thursday, a 2007 Pontiac G5 driven by Anthony Wilson, 33, of Johnsonburg, was involved in a one-vehicle accident on Montmorenci Road in Ridgway Township, according the Ridgway-based state police.
FOX TWP. â€“ A Baltimore, Md. man was killed as a result of a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and tri-axle truck on Oct. 28 on state Route 255 in Kersey.
The crash occurred at 10:20 a.m. on the Million Dollar Highway (SR 255) near the Laurel Lane intersection.
Michael Hanley Jr. was the driver of the tractor-trailer who was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of two witnesses who helped pull Hanley from the cab.

With a high-profile governor's race on the ballot, Elk County had a high voter turnout with 44.35 percent of the registered voters coming out to vote.
York County businessman Tom Wolf ousted incumbent Republican Governor Tom Corbett soundly Tuesday. The Democrat could not carry Elk County, however, as Corbett got 4,420 votes to Wolf's 4,115. There were 31 write-in votes as well. Pennsylvania law was changed in 1968 to allow for consecutive gubernatorial terms. Corbett is the first Pennsylvania governor to be denied re-election since the law was changed.

JV head coach Robin Barclay expressed appreciation to her family and spoke about the life lessons to be taught with sports.
"We started out the season with five sophomores, five freshman and two juniors," Barclay said. "I believe sports can teach some real life lessons. As coaches, Janet and I try to highlight those as they come up."
