Police: Bath salts growing problem in area

This is according to St. Marys City Police Officer Greg McManus, who in speaking before a group of concerned parents and local law enforcement discussed the rise of stimulant bath salts use in the area at a town hall meeting held at the South St. Marys Street elementary school earlier this week.

Cancer survivors create new support group

A new cancer support group is being started in Kersey as an outlet for patients, survivors and caregivers battling the disease. Their first meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 1 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Kersey United Methodist Church and will continue to meet at the same time and location during the first Monday of every month.

PHILIPSBURG – Police say that a murder-suicide at a Philipsburg area grocery store Thursday morning was the work of a former Pennsylvania State Trooper who used a shotgun to kill his estranged wife before turning the weapon on himself Thursday morning.

JOHNSONBURG – On Wednesday, police released further details of their investigation into the death of an 18-year-old Johnsonburg woman whose body was found Tuesday in a park on the outskirts of Ridgway.

Cleanup continues on Bennett Branch
