JOHNSONBURG – Even a steady downpour in the first inning Tuesday afternoon did not deter Ridgway freshman Hollie Schneider as she cruised to a 2-hit 18-2 victory in four innings on the road against Johnsonburg.
"We're happy with Hollie [Schneider] and she did terrific," said Ridgway head varsity softball coach Gary Gerber II. "She only got two thirds of an inning in before getting rained out the last time she went out so it was good to see what she has in her first full game.
"She threw the ball well but she had some mental lapses in the fourth inning."
April 15th
As the temperature began to cool down, the softball bats began to heat up at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.
Elk County Catholic softball would finish off the game with a 10-run seventh inning en route to a 24-6 win over Ridgway Monday afternoon.
In order to fulfill a new requirement by the Department of Environmental Protection, the Borough of Ridgway has applied for a permit amendment for its bulk water loading stations.
