Timothy Skerl, 50, of 82 Squirrel Dr., Lake City, died unexpectedly Friday morning, April 5, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 17, 1962 in Pittsburgh son of the late Edward J. and Norma J. [Ellwood] Skerl. He married Jill A. Trumbull on July 7, 2007. He had resided in the Ridgway area for the last 20 years and was a former Renton resident. Tim enjoyed working outside, repairing cars, hunting and fishing. He had been employed by Continental Construction for 11 years.
Joan Marie Rhines Carlini (Joanie), born June 14, 1941 completed her service here on Earth April 4, 2013 and went home to be with her Heavenly Father.Â
She passed peacefully at home with family. Joanie was a committed member of Word Tabernacle Church, where she was an Altar Counselor and a Prayer Intercessor. She lived her life excited to tell everyone about the power of Jesus Christ and His love for them.Â

A Johnsonburg man charged with operating what authorities deemed "a sophisticated and significant marijuana grow operation” from his home, was sentenced in Elk County Court Thursday to serve 12 to 24 months behind bars in Elk County Prison.
Despite Governor Tom Corbett's recent proposal to increase funding to support domestic violence programs by 10 percent, nonprofit organizations like CAPSEA [Citizens Against Physical, Sexual and Emotional Abuse] still struggle to make ends meet.
"At this point in time the Commonwealth is in the dark as to what evidence might be," said Elk County District Attorney Bradley J. Kraus who was in Elk County Court Thursday seeking to compel the discovery of potential expert witnesses and documents to be used in the defense of a Ridgway man headed to trial next month on charges of marijuana manufacturing.
Violet E. Breakey, 86, of Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys died on Wednesday evening, April 3, 2013 at Elk Haven following a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 19, 1915 in Ridgway to Swedish immigrants Otto and Lilly Larson Magnuson.
She married Donald M. Breakey in September of 1956. He died in 1965.

Once again the Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Manager Michelle Bogacki are busy preparing for the Fourth Annual Community Wide Yard Sale scheduled for May 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.
For the time being, Johnsonburg and Ridgway will maintain their respective baseball teams.
KANE – A court hearing for a Mt. Jewett couple charged with endangering the welfare their three adoptive children has been postponed in Kane District Court.
COUDERSPORT – A Coudersport man charged with fatally shooting his ex-wife in the midst of a Sunday morning church service waived his hearing on murder charges in a Potter County District Court Wednesday.
