Ridgway volleyball edges Curwensville in five sets

It might have been the long way to victory but in the end, it was a Lady Elker volleyball victory.
After falling behind 2-1, Ridgway won the final two sets to take a 3-2 victory (25-16, 21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 16-14) over Curwensville Thursday night at Ridgway Area High School.

Army Corps awaiting proposals for project

Punxsutawney sweeps Johnsonburg in three sets

JOHNSONBURG – The first set score decided by two points Thursday seemed to be a strong indication that Johnsonburg's volleyball match with visiting Punxsutawney would be a close one.
The Ramettes, however, succumbed to a 25-8 loss in the second set before the Lady Chucks closed out the home team 25-18 in a 3-0 road win (25-23, 25-8, 25-18).

Shots fired in Brockway

According to scanner reports from Thursday afternoon, local authorities have responded to an area referred to as Cemetery Hill in Brockway in response to multiple shots being fired.

According to WJAC-TV, "a state police spokesperson in Harrisburg confirmed one state trooper was injured in what was described as an 'ongoing situation' on Cemetery Hill Road."

Scanner reports also stated that area schools were on lockdown.
