Last year, one stroke separated the Elkers from the District 9 boys golf team championship.
This year, it was a lot more than one stroke separating Ridgway boys golf from the rest of the pack. The Elkers took home the team title with a total score of 317 Monday afternoon on the opening day of the District 9 boys golf championships held at The Pennhills Club in Bradford.
Jake Klawuhn finished at 77, T.J. Schlimm had a 78 and Josh Roselli carded an 80 for the Elkers.
Mitchell Gilmore finished with an 82 for Ridgway.
Ridgway girls soccer won 6-0 against St. Marys in action Monday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.
It was the third straight win for the Lady Elkers. Ridgway won 1-0 at Port Allegany and 6-0 at Smethport last week.
Monday evening's Elk County Conservation District Meeting also marked the District's 51-year anniversary. The District, one of 66 throughout Pennsylvania, began its first year in September of 1962.
